How is the stray getting along with your resident cat? Hopefully you are keeping them separated until you get her screened by a vet? (Asking as a person volunteering at a cat rescue)
I love Illimat! I have a few friends that will play with me. Everyone else thinks its a cult. I don't care. I love saying "thou shan't sow the Fool of Summer into the Field of Autumn!" etc. The illustrations are endlessly enchanting. ordering my new badge now...
Also, I can’t decide which preorders to get for Illimat, I feel like last time I looked (ages ago) it was sold out and now I have analysis paralysis on what’s best to start...it’s best to just get the universe bundle and add the crane wife set and pins?
I know. There's tons of stuff! If you don't have the game yet, I would get the Universe Bundle or the Initiate Bundle. I'd start with the luminaries that come with the game and once you've got the hang go them, add in an expansion set. I'd probably wait to get the third expansion until you've got the hang of the other two. Or you could get it now and hang onto it. But the luminary cards take a bit to figure out and I wouldn't want to learn with all of them at once.
Quilting question! So, do you use a sewing machine? If so, any recommendations or tips? I’ve been wanting to learn how to make costumes and quilts , and I wonder if there’s a single miraculous machine that would get me stared on both.
I use a sewing machine to do the piecing - the quilt squares and patterns - and I do the appliqué and actual quilting (sewing the back of the quilt to the front) by hand. My sewing machine is made by Janome. It's pretty simple and pretty old. Probably going on 20 years old? And the little spindle that the thread sits on has broken off and been krazy glued back on three times! So I don't think there is a miraculous machine. I love my stupid broken one because I know how to use it. I can't weigh in on sewing clothes - I don't know how to do that at all - but a modestly-priced sewing machine by a good brand without a ton of bells and whistles is what I'd recommend.
This is super useful to me , thanks for your time, Carson! Also loled at the krazy glued comment as it came at a good time - we broke a piece off an air purifier last night and I was stressed about it but it still works, just needs some glue :)

Yes, she’s isolated in her own room for now. I’m going to wait a few more days to be sure no one is missing her, then we’ll go to the vet.

Illimat is such a fun game! One project I set aside a while back is to make a backing and quilt my illimat board.
