I told myself I’d finish this pandemic-themed quilt by the time we achieved herd immunity. I’ve lost track of whether or not that’s happened or if it’s even an achievable goal. But I’m done! I finished it.
Someday I’m going to write more about this quilt. I worked on it for years. I learned a lot making it. I thought about heavy stuff while I worked. The endless handwork helped assuage nervous energy and dread. I have a lot to say about it but I’m still synthesizing it all.
In the meantime, while I’m synthesizing, it’ll be hanging at Gallery 16 in San Francisco June through July if you’d like to see it. I have a show there, along with the great Nathaniel Russell. Most of the work in this show was made during the pandemic. Not in response to it, per se, but powerfully influenced by it. The show is called Only Children, Hang Tight.

Home & Garden
It is so wet here, and so green. Oregon is anticipating yet another drought, so the rain is good. The more rain, the better.
Here are some photos of my dramatic burn pile and a bramble by the pond that we call “The Woods House.”
MORE RAIN
MORE RAIN

I really hope you do write more about the story of this quilt and your thoughts while making it. The quilt itself is breathtaking and I can tell it contains multitudes, and not just thread. Congratulations :)
Omg you finished it!!! It’s so Gorgeous. Congratulations! I feel inspired to pick up something from my giant mountain of unfinished projects. Or even better I could start a quilt project that I’ll never finish! 😂
