Thank you! I love when people love Old Brighg. Yes, Alix and I are planning to keep podcasting. We may pivot away from the farm and towards art and other histories, and we may host new episodes here on substack, which has a whole podcasting interface that is kind of cool. We half joked about calling it New Bright.
Thank you!! I really need this kind of animal reporting today. Made me smile. Comet's face is a-ma-zing! That white fluff a top the tobacco brown body. Superb.
You have to be a true animal lover to live on (even just) a mini farm! 💕 I have ONE dog & I love him dearly, but some days I wish someone else would take over the doggie ‘chores’. ❤️
I love hearing about your not-a-farm farm! Listening to Old Bright was always a joy. I’m moving onto a rural property soon where I can finally get chickens again (suburban neighbours dogs continually jumped my fence and killed my chooks) and my son really wants an alpaca. Your fondness for your llamas almost makes me say yes to him 😂
We're up to 3 dogs, 5 bloodhounds, 1 mature cat, 3 hellboy teenage cats, 3 girl kittens and a Pig Named Alice (Alice the Bloodhound demands satisfaction!). Herding animals, yet, but we're almost on to a new property with more room so who knows what tomorrow may bring?
I loved this written wander around your place. I grew up in Vancouver, WA, and I guess we had a small hobby farm, too (a pony, about 10 banty chickens, various house cats, and an overgrown Christmas tree plot that was home to snowy owls for many seasons). Your post was evocative of this special PNW home and time. Thanks!
great writing. thanks
This little animal round up made me smile. Especially the, ahem, complicated relationship of Bogo and Boget. Llama drama!
I really, really loved listening to Old Bright. Will it be returning for more episodes?
I was going to ask the same. I love Old Bright too.

Happy to oblige 🙂
I was really perplexed about the familial relationship there before you explained it. I love Comet, I think he'd be fun to draw.

I’m also really good at planting and bad at harvesting. I loved this farm report so much ❤️
Too lazy to harvest club 🙌
Thank you for the laughs and smiles! You answered so many questions!

Bogo and Boget! It's Chinatown, Jake. I love them. And Comet is so beautiful.
Ha ha! Isn’t he?
Love your voice! Thanks for taking me to your hobby farm today, I feel better, it's been a rough day.
Sorry to hear that. ❤️
