Welcome to the World, Freshy Meloy
This won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but here’s a video of a chick hatching last Friday. This baby, the last to be born of 5, is named Freshy. Watch her come messily and arduously into the world.
And here is Freshy two days later with her friend, acclaimed children’s book author and illustrator Jon Klassen.
By the way, Jon and I will be in conversation at Literary Arts Bookstore in Portland tonight, discussing kid’s books for an adult audience. It’s a ticketed thing and I’m sorry to say that I think it’s sold out, but double check with Literary Arts if you’re curious.
I clicked on this post because I thought Jon had a new nickname, "Freshy Meloy."
Who could this not be their cup of tea? This is amazing. It makes me feel a little better about my own hard work leading to disorientation.
