I’m so happy that Moe is finally on substack. She’s one of my favorite writers.
Her daily reflections on instagram during the pandemic (now available as a series of zines called Good Night People of Earth) helped me cope and made me grateful for that dumb app.
The podcast she helped create, It Did Happen Here, chronicles the coalition of antifascists that drove a murderous and organized neo-nazi presence out of Portland in the 80s and 90s. It’s an amazing story told so well. I recommend it. (And it’s been recently adapted into a book too.)
But everybody check out Moe’s substack Subversion Through Friendliness and become a paid subscriber if you can swing it. This brilliant, doggedly friendly fisher poet and activist truly deserves your hard earned cash. And today is her birthday! Give her a gift.
